RIP Ara Parseghian

Never understood his name. It confused me greatly as a boy, and mildly as a young man.

I confess I forgot he existed for the past 20 years or so. But sad to see him leave us.

"Parseghian" is Armenian. BTW, his father was an Armenian who escaped the Muslin on Christian genocide that killed an estimated 2 million Armenian Christians in the early 1900's. Of course Turkey has never apologized acknowledged this atrocity.

Ara flew the coup in 1974, never to return to coaching. ND hasn't enjoyed that type of gridiron success since.

Great Coach. Reminds me of watching the Norte Dame football replays on Sunday nights with our own legend, Lindsey Nelson.
