Allows him to avoid the awkward situation when Boeheim goes back on his plan to retire next season. I feel like Boeheim will be as annoying as Favre was at the end

There was no ceremony. Just like there wasn't one for Muschamp in Texas. It was understood.

And Illinois hired Steve Underwood of Oklahoma State who was only at Oklahoma State for one season.

Hard to be the guy in waiting for 10 years and expect the guy to just sit around waiting, he saw an opportunity and took it! Can't blame him, plus alot less pressure at UW.
