A bunch of Gators going pro early:

On Defense:

CB Teez Tabor
CB Quincy Wilson
LB Alex Anzalone
DT Caleb Brantley (probable)

On Offense:

OT David Sharp

Along with notable Seniors:

QB Appleby
DE Brian Cox
LB Jarrad Davis
SS Marcus Maye

Definitely a big hit on Defense.

They are still bringing back a good core of players, though...especially on OL. Only about 10 Seniors on team.

Too bad Calloway and Scarlett are a SOPHs.

Malone, Barnett, Hurd, Kamara...

UT is losing more production from underclassmen than when they played in '16.

I understand why this is posted and don't ever question the idea behind it.

But, every year, y'all find a way to take it a little too far.

Do you really think losing QB Appleby is an issue? Seriously?

Pfft... go to Gatorcountry. You will see a thread talking about how much we're going to miss Dobbs, after they've spent the last 3 years trashing him.

To be fair he was your starting QB the last half of the season.

Exactly lol. Had a gator fan tell me this year he would not want Dobbs lol. And who is going to take over for at qb. Clearly del rio is not the answer.

Waiting patiently for VolsRule to chime in and predict all sorts of gloom and doom with our football program....

Well he wasn't an upper tier QB, but in the limited time I saw Florida games (pieces of 5-6 games plus TN) I thought he was much better than Del Rio.

He had a way better arm.

7 new starters on D will definitely make those first 3-4 games challenging, especially against a good passing team.

Offense and Special Teams could be dangerous though.

Luckily Michigan will be breaking in a bunch of new starters also.

Our secondary will definitely take a step back, losing Wilson and Tabor. However Gardner was a top recruit and played a great bowl game. We need to find a capable CB opposite him. Plenty of experience returning at safety.

No concerns at all at LB, barring injury of course. Reese and Joseph are studs.

Not sure what to make of the DL just yet.

Appleby was your best QB. Your team played at its best offensively against real competition with him. Both Tennessee and even Alabama were better offensive performances than Del Rio against Arkansas.

Unless the freshmen are good, you will downgrade next year if Del Rio is back.

Georgia won't.

Neither will Florida.

We're still the most talented team. Our senior and junior classes were top 5. Florida and Georgia weren't. Georgia's class this year is elite but they are just freshmen.

Tennessee should win the East this year.

"Should".

Will be an interesting year.

It's subpar relative to what we're used to.

That said, the predictions of doom and gloom over our losses on defense might be overstated.

How so? Never mind, you explained above. I think your secondary will be the strength of your defense but a far cry from the last 5 years.

I think your linebackers are very average.

Your DL will be ok but again nothing like the past 5 years.

Your offense should be better but that will all depend on your QB.

Is your kicker leaving?
