Bo Davis is expected to leave his position as assistant football coach at the University of Alabama over an inquiry into possible recruiting violations, The Tuscaloosa News has learned. Davis is expected to resign or be fired from his job.

UA has been conducting an internal investigation and the NCAA has also made inquiries into the matter.
Davis’ contract at Alabama runs through 2017 at a salary of $475,000 per year after receiving a one-year extension and a $25,000-per-year raise last June.

Davis became part of head coach Nick Saban’s original coaching staff at Alabama when he was hired in 2007 as defensive line coach.

He stayed through 2010 before leaving for the same position at Texas, where he stayed for three seasons. He returned to UA in 2014 in the same capacity to help lead one of the best defensive lines in the country, highlighted by a stellar 2015 unit.

He also coached with Saban in 2006 as an assistant defensive line coach and assistant strength and conditioning coach with the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League.

Bama will still likely sign either the top or at the very least a top 5 class come February. They will win 10-12 games and likely will make the CFB playoffs again.

Bama will be fine.

You are very unfamiliar with things if you thing paying players at bama started with Saban. They have another statue at BD of a man who made a career of paying top dollar for talent.

More like decades. And they aren't the only ones.

This kind of stuff happens more in college basketball. 90% of good coaches cheat in some way to get highly rated recruits. John Calipari, Roy Williams, Coach K, Bill Self, probably all cheat but never get caught.

"We" didn't get caught. Bo Davis got caught.

And, because of Bama didn't want any further digging into compliance issues, Davis was terminated. Can't expect Emmert to cover up all those proverbial bodies.

fyp again. but I will agree that it was Davis that got caught not Bama; NCAA won't risk their boy.

Since these are just allegations, why is he leaving? It is not like Tuscaloosa is a den of righteousness. He needs to stay and uphold the family tradition.
