| This just trashed USC's recruiting class. I'm thinking SC might be just about to get slapped with some NCAA sanctions. |

| | Senior Member | Great News! As I see it, this lets CLK get a real shot at some of those West Coast recruits that had been considering or committed to USC.
Also, I conclude that Carroll saw some handwriting on the wall.. His USC program has fallen from grace a bit with the worst season in years, multiple recruiting investigations and a lot of current players who just didn't live up to their own press releases. The 7million per year from the Sea Hawks probably didn't hurt when he considered walking either.
I'll bet he didn't have more than one or two playes at USC making the kind of money the Seahawks offered him. |

Pete has had offers like this before in recent years, but jumping at it now leads me to believe that he knows what's coming and that it isn't good. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

Took the words right out of my head. USC's reign looked like it was coming to end in front of our very eyes, he new it was his time to cash a big contract somewere while he still could. |

Posted via VolNation Mobile | Yeah nothing is concrete. But i've been hearing a few things here and there. Usually where there is smoke there is fire. SC has had a great run, about time for it to end anyway. |

| Kyle Prater and perhaps Jesse Scroggins would be amazing. I know we have a QB that is probably better, but I wouldnt turn him down. |

| The gates to hell just opened up!...CLK and coach O are running up some serious cell phone bills calling those USC recruits!...This should be quite entertaining to see what happens now. |

| All the Seahawks have to do is comply with the "Rooney Rule" and Pete is gone. They have an assistant in Minnesota to interview today, then Carroll will sign the contract. Wish it could happen before the Army game this afternoon, but it won't. I am hoping this will pull some of those kids who were on the fence between USC and UT towards the mountains.
