So he did what he had to do, but only b/c he screwed up to put himself in that spot in the first place.

I haven't quite made up my mind on this one. Obviously the rule is ridiculous. However, CUM isn't stupid. He either did this to flex his muscles with Slive or he wanted to start the ball rolling. I think it is the latter. If you fine CUM for a first time offense then you obviously must suspend CLK for the next. |

| I guess the SEC stands for Socialistic Egomaniac Comrade. Slive is really embarrassing the league. It is not like these officials are volunteers. They are paid well and as far as I know their names have not been mentioned by any of the coaches in public. The first amendment is out and the dictatorship is in. It is time for a new commish. |

| Considering that for the last week, most of us questioned whether Slive would do anything, the suspension at least punished Meyer publicly.
But i agree that a fine is the lesser of the two punishments. And I still hold that to some degree Meyer did this to deflect attention from Brandon Spikes attempt at gouging a players' eyes. |

| I can't stand Urban Meyer......and would be truly impressed if this fine actually does come out of HIS salary. But, there is more at stake here. Every underdog team about to pull an upset has felt shafted. MANY actually were. I honestly believe Arkansas had the Gators whipped a few weeks ago. I told the people watching with me to watch closely.....the officials won't let it happen. They were amazed. So, does a coach just take his loss and keep his mouth shut? And, this sets a precedent.......you will take your scewing and your team and go home and keep your mouth shut. |
