Honestly, I don't think he should've been punished in the first place. Unless this will now be consistently be enforced then it's a waste of time. The fact Urban caved in due to media pressure is quite humorous.

Keep up the good work Urbie.

Tebow and Spikes must have had another tiff and Meyer went with his boy Tebow.

I understand and accept that he was punished for being caught. But overall, I think it's pointless. The fact that his suspension is during the Vandy game is even more laughable. Overall, this whole situation is a joke.

Spikes to sit out entire Vanderbilt game

By Robbie Andreu
Sun sports writer

Due to mounting criticism, a mutual decision for Brandon Spikes to sit out the entire Vanderbilt game was made by the senior linebacker and Florida's coaching staff and players.

Coach Urban Meyer had received negative attention for being too lenient after an incident involving Spikes during Saturday's game against Georgia.

Spikes said he doesn't want to be a distraction to his teammates. Meyer said he supports Spikes' decision.

Meyer suspended Spikes on Monday for the first half of Saturday’s game against Vanderbilt for sticking his hand inside the helmet of Georgia running back Washaun Ealey after a tackle.

He's going to use a ref overturning a call via replay as relevant evidence that everyone does it and we're just jealous.

This is proof positive that all the coaches and players at UF read VN.

Perhaps Urban's decision will dam the river of tears that have been cried on this forum the past 4 days.

On the upside, UF and Meyer have gotten plenty of media attention and boots his street cred which pulls in more big recruits (at least according to VN).

UF had the street cred with thugs cornered before this incident. Urban and Spikes caving in to media pressure will no doubt make them look weak.
