| No, it shouldn't. Why should the BCS change itself? Why would they care if they crown the best team in the NCAA with the BCS championship? All they care about is money and the system right now is giving them all they could ask for.

I've done a lot of research this semester on the BCS and its history and future and all that and I see no change any time soon. Sadly they essentially have the monopoly and couldn't care less what fans think. |

| BCS coordinator John Swofford, on the state of the program:
"I continue to sense a certain comfort level, if you will, with the current status of things with the BCS. I think it's been a pretty stable few years."
Proves my point.

Proves my point. | I mean the man is good at his job, he is phenomenal at getting people talking. Too bad everyone is talking about how stupid the BCS is.
The only argument I accept at this point that is pro-BCS is that a playoff would hurt the regular season. I think it would. But I feel like a solution to that problem is plausible and I'm still not even sure that is reason enough to not have a playoff.
Also I'm fully aware that even with a playoff people would just ***** about the playoff. People will never be happy. I think that they are aware of that and see that as the best reason to not change things. |

| Did we even need a thread on this? I'm pretty sure everyone here expected this outcome. |

| I think the "plus one" format doesn't take much away from the regular season.

| | VN Night Watch | No, but there will be at least a handful of teams complaining every single season.
I'm against a playoff format altogether. Plus one, whatever. I'm fine with the BCS the way it is. Every single regular season game matters, which I like. And I concern myself with whether or not a team wins their conference, not the national title.

| I just hope (and for their sake)that we don't get a a repeat of '01 (Nebraska in the Title despite not being in the Big XII CG) '03 (Oklahoma in the Title game Despite getting their ***es handed to them by Kansas St.) and '04 (Auburn getting shafted) because of their greed.
And i don't wanna hear this "it will take away from their classwork" bs,because if it can work all those years in Div I-A,II, and III then why the hell it is so dog gone difficult for the powers that be in I-A to make it work. |
