and the good news is..his name is not Gillespie!

Florida: Tim Skipper will join Jim McElwain at Florida reports John Middlekauff. We had heard that Skip was expected to be the lone CSU assistant to join Mac at Florida. Middlekauff reports that Skip will serve as running backs coach.

A little surprised by this move. Hasn't coached RB's in 10 years.

Edit: Sorry 6 years

I'm a little surprised as well. On the surface it appears as an average hire at best ... Time will tell.

As a Vol fan and "gator hater" I am happy!

Oh please let this be true. It's still probably too early to release Gillispie from the hogtie/handcuffs/gag and take him out of the safe house though

Dammitt!!!

Who do they think it will be? That name came out of nowhere didn't it? Wasn't even on your or LWs short list?

He interviewed for CSU job and eith Bobo. Most believed he would be a hold over for Bobo's staff.

He's a candidate but a couple or others have to say no.

GatorBait.net has been informed that the hire of Tim Skipper should happen and is likely made official on Monday.

Avg hire at best. Fl doesnt really recruit the West so he'll most likely be the point out there and New Orleans(native).

This sure is one exotic coaching staff.

Wonder what this guy thinks of Florida?

Thigpen is our best recruiter, so losing him would be an enormous blow. Not to mention we do not have a very diversified staff with only 2 AA coaches. We could possibly lose both AA coaches and that is a big problem. Having an all-white staff is beyond stupid when you are recruiting mostly AA players.

The real question is - can he get his running backs to convert on third and shart?
