Whittingham isn't going to Houston. That is a step down. He has been mentioned with some high profile openings.

I would assume that Houston gauged some interest before firing Levine. Since Briles is an alum and former coach at Houston, I assume that they know if the Baylor OC wants the job.

On the surface, this looks like the best hire/fit this year..he has Texas ties from coaching at Rice, Texas State,Texas, Sam Houston, and Texas Lutheran
