Duke's out to a quick 10-0 lead over Virginia Tech.

Can't help but root for Coach Cutcliffe with all the great things he accomplished here. Continues doing a fantastic job at a place where football success was long given up on.

10-7 Duke. 6 min left in the first half.


That offense seems to be have been having more difficulty (especially these last few games) than it was last season.

Not a good day for Duke's QB Boone so far.

He's 9 for 20 in the first half, 90 yards. His INT also pretty much led to VT's TD, didn't it?

VT kicks a FG at the end of the 3rd to make it 16-10 Duke.

Boone still not having too good of a day: 14/30, 132 yards, 2 INTs now.

Again, another Duke turnover led to VT getting points...however, while the INT put VT at the Duke 9, their defense was able to hold them to just a FG.

And Duke returned the kickoff to its own 31 only to fumble it and give the ball right back to VT.

Duke's really playing this one messy/sloppy.


Hokies driving again, likely to score this drive.

TD VT. 17-16 with 12:50 left in the game.

This one's entirely on Duke. That's 3 or 4 turnovers now.

It's Duke, it's cold, plus VT isnt that good this year either. (And this is the first season of their basketball season.)

If they don't show up for the UNC football game though, that's a different story.

They lose today, it pretty much makes their game against UNC a must win (and they can't look past Wake either).

Duke couldn't move the ball past the VT 30, and then missed the 40 yard FG.

Two minutes left and Duke's having to play stop them from getting a first down.

Duke gets to the VT 48, off a very close catch.

Now the 42, but Duke gets sacked/grounding.

So back to the 49.

Duke loses 17-16 to VT, opening back up the division.

Means their next two games are must wins. And while Wake should be a win...they play anywhere like this next week against UNC, and they lose.


This one today was all on their own mistakes.
