Didn't see this story until today. Some things are greater than sports.

The heights Adreian Payne scaled competitively, academically and emotionally in four years reflect his personal growth and maturity. But Payne, a Michigan State forward, never climbed higher or stood taller than when he raised the hopes and spirits of a little girl relentlessly battling a disease relentless in its physical destruction.

My company's HQ are in St. Johns, I wonder if we've done anything for their family? We're a family owned company and St. Johns is a small town of only about 7k people so I'm sure someone's heard her story and likely knows the family personally.

Great story nontheless. Always refreshing to see big time athletes take the time for things like this. As Payne said himself, he'll be a better person for this. Like our teams' actions after the Iowa game, that makes me more proud of them than winning any game ever could.

That's a great story. Hopefully it has a happy ending and she beats the cancer.
