Barnes is a clown. I remember people here clamoring for him during the gillispie and Calipari searches, wanted to punch them in the throat.

Barnes has to coach basketball in a state that doesn't know what a round, orange ball looks like.

I don't understand how he gets the players that he does. Decent recruiter, mediocre coach.

A couple years ago he flat out said that his first priority was to get his players to the NBA. Second priority was winning games

There's actually a lot of good basketball players in Texas.

Bound to be, as big as Texas is. The point is that basketball is a fly on football's pecker when it comes to statewide relevance.

Maybe Mississippi State decided not to jump high today but that Texas squad was swattin balls left and right. Not a fan of Barnes but Texas has A LOT of good HS basketball players so it doesn't surprise me that he gets the classes he does.
