| Very sad news. Those are good people down in College Station.
The death toll is up to three people: constable, shooter, and civilian bystander |

Prayers with the victims. This kind of stuff needs to stop. Maybe it's ignorance on my behalf, but I don't remember seeing so much of this kind of stuff before the Virginia Tech incident. Makes me wonder how many of these shootings are from notoriety-seeking lunatics. | Copycat crime - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Copycat crimes; it's an unfortunate thing to happen following big publicity/media events (such as the Aurora Shooting)
they're quite disgusting.
prayers and condolences to all the families involved

| Thomas Caffal was being served an eviction notice by Constable Bachmann. The Caffal family representative offered their condolences and breifly mentioned that "Tres" (Thomas Caffal) had been ill for quite some time. Facebook research provided evidence that Thomas had in his possession, several firearms ranging from semi-auto assult rifle and standard hunting firearms. After shooting Bachmann, Caffal helped himself to Constable Bachmann's ammo from his gun belt and returned to his porch to further combat the other officers. At that juncture, a second firefight insued and Caffal was mortally wounded by a flurry of shots (estimated at 5). A round penetrated through the chest which allowed him to live long enough to have initial medical attention, however he was pronounced dead prior to arriving to College Station Med Center.
The "arrest" was caught on film by a neighbor and can be seen here: Neighbor of College Station shooter records action on cellphone | The Eagle | Bryan/College Station, Texas - The Eagle
Furthermore, a fund has been established in conjunction with TexAgs.com to donate to the family of Constable Bachmann. He leaves behind a wife and two school aged children.
If you'd like further info on it, and provided I obtain permission to post a link to another site, I will gladly post it.
I did not know Brian Bachmann personally but have several friends who did through College Station Little League. He was very active in that. From all accounts, Brian was a standup guy who loved his church, family, job, and community. He was an asset to the public in which he served and will be missed by not only his peers, but the entire Bryan/College Station Community. T&P to his widow and young children as well as the other victims.
And a big thank you to the OP for posting the story.

| Sad that this trend is occurring more and more. We need to get more Jesus Christ into people's lives.
