I'll take 75 with great talent over 85 with good talent. You only need to field 11 guys at a time.
How does the NFL do it with 53? Hmmm

If the two picks in front go LSU and OK, I'm going for USC just because I think a high percentage of the head to heads between USC and the Ducks goes to the Trojans. Pure business though, I like Oregon's program.
So the next question....does Arkansas have a chance in the West? |

| | Junior Member | The way this works is we pick 1,2,3, 4, ad nauseam through 10 and then reverse the order..so I have pick #3 but then picks 18 and 23. So I'm looking for a school that's flying under the radar. Ark, Mich St, Neb, USF all fall in that grouping (initial rankings from 17 to 25). Basic points come from week to week AP rank but extra points for BCS bowl appearance and conf. champs. Neb would be my first choice but they probably will be gone. Probably Mich St or USF would be next on my list |

| | smh | What worries me about all of those:
- Nebraska: Probably the best of the bunch but definitely in a crowded division with Michigan, Michigan State and Iowa. Michigan is the only one of those three they get at home, plus they play Wisconsin and at Ohio State.
- Michigan State: Again, crowded division. They also get Ohio State and Wisconsin cross division, and a OOC slate that includes Notre Dame and Boise State. Not an enviable schedule.
- USF: Most intriguing to me since they could win their conference, but it's not that easy of a call, and their OOC includes FSU, @Miami and @Nevada
Arkansas is definitely a candidate to win ten games, but even with Bama and LSU at home I would be stunned if they won the west. |

| | Junior Member | What I would like is someone that can get into the top 10-12 early and hold on. Ark may be able to stay up there but the coaching change is a concern. That's what worries me about USF. They can win their first five and still not be in the top 15. |

| | smh | In that case, go with Arkansas. They have Bama early but I think they can stay fairly highly ranked just on account of them playing in the SEC West. |

| | Junior Member | That's my thought....... and call me a kool aid drinking homer but I'm going with Tennessee for my third pick. Hopefully the snakes have quit biting and Big Sal is going to give us some breaks. |

| | Junior Member | I know but I really think UT is flying under the radar. Even if they get past FL, I don't think they'll break the top 15 so that's an issue.....just have to see who is left on the board. |

| | smh | It's still preseason hype. Stuff like this is why I lurk the main board more than anything, but fact is, in spite of injuries we still sucked last year. The offensive line was pitiful.
Yes, with the skill players we have the sky is the limit. But Bowles and the new boys were what, in third grade last time we beat Florida? And I know the schedule is easier but I can't shake the feeling that this is a seven win team.
Point is, listen to your inner skeptic for things like this. |

| | smh | Also, the Vols no longer have that cache to just get a decent ranking on the benefit of the doubt. We'll have to come out gangbusters to crack the AP. Heart says yes, head says maybe not. |
