Randy Shannon...

Is the new linebackers coach at TCU. I would guess that he would have been happy to take the DC job at UT if he had been offered it. Wonder if Palardy is aware of this...

He got off of the plane that he and Lovie Smith have been in circling McGhee-Tyson?

Maybe now people will stop believing that UT was close to hiring Randy Shannon.

Randy Shannon...LB coach @ TCU???

Didn't see this discussed yet, and I put it in the Vol's forum because there was so much talk about him being the Vol's head coach. IIRC, some posters said he was coming here for sure, and he turned it down. Did he really turn down the head coaching position here to be a position coach at TCU? Not trying to incite a Negavol riot, just thought this was interesting. I am one of the most optimistic VFL you will meet.

He was never in play for head coach here. Only DC.

Thanks, couldn't quite remember. So he turned down the DC position to be a position coach. I guess TCU being a new comer in the Big 12 was appealing, with the talent they already have.

Seems like your trying to make something out of nothing.

Well I wouldnt say turned down. Im pretty sure Dooleys 1st choice was to take someone qualified from Saban. He got his man in Sunseri. I believe Shannon was next in line if Sunseri turned it down. We will never know.

Yeah, isn't that what happens in the offseason

I think it's strange that he would take a step back in his career if he had an opportunity at Tennessee
