| Boise State bolts Mountain West "Boise State beat the midnight deadline Saturday to withdraw from the Mountain West Conference, officially keeping the Broncos on the path toward Big East affiliation in college football for the fall of 2013.
The Idaho Statesman and the Las Vegas Review Journal reported the news earlier Saturday night with the Review Journal quoting UNLV president Neal Smatresk that he received Boise State's withdrawal letter.
Big East football in 2013
Barring further changes via conference realigment, the following 12 schools will play football in the Big East in 2013:
• Boise State
• Central Florida
• Cincinnati
• Connecticut
• Houston
• Louisville
• Memphis
• Rutgers
• San Diego State
• South Florida
• SMU
• Temple
Boise State had to beat the deadline to avoid paying a $5 million penalty that would have been incurred had the school failed to notify the MWC of its intentions past June 30. Boise State will already lose an estimated $2.5 million of revenue, according to the Statesman and Review Journal."

| I don't think the biggest question so much anymore was "will Boise leave for the big east like it had already agreed to do" so much as it was "after the more recent moves where is boise state going to house its other athletic programs now" |

| Unless something drastically changed, they probably should have noted navy joining in 2015
Sucks for them that they had to pick back up temple though because of the delay with navy...(and supposedly still waiting on villanova to jump up to FBS, though getting BYU would have probably been better for them of all those there anyways) |

| Need two Conferences
North and South
Every School above the 37th Parallel would be in the North, below would be in the South

| Big question still is where will Boise's other athletic teams go now?
The plan was originally to put them in the WAC, but well how viable's that actually now? |

| I understand the implications for basketball, but damn, Memphis is pretty much guaranteed to only win one or two games from now on in football. |
