Again, we'll see. We won a championship and will have the weakest team Cal has had, we'll make the elite 8 but I doubt we have the depth and talent to go all the way.

I remember Cal asking which 3 OOC games the fans wanted to keep and I'm pretty sure IU finished last in that. I'd much rather play my in state rival and North Carolina than IU. It does actually make a lot more sense to switch to another location and split it down the middle.

I'm sure a fan from Transylvania Tech St would love to oblige. Good luck with that.

So why not also do that with UNC and UL?

That's my biggest question?

This is just petty on Indiana's part, in my opinion. I can't fault Kentucky for wanting to play this game at a neutral site for more money or recruiting purposes. And I hate Cal.

The other side of it is that KY's season-ticket holders would probably rather see a home game with IU next season than Miss. Valley State or whoever KY would play at home, after moving the IU game out of Lexington.

The "blame" is mutual. It sounds like one side wants neutral sites, and the other side wants home and home, and neither side will bend.

"As for Kentucky-North Carolina, UNC Senior Associate Athletic Director Larry Gallo said that UK did not want to continue the current series, which began in the 2000-01 season."

IU wants home and home and won't budge while UK wants neutral sites. Playing in Indy at Lucal Oil would benefit UK 100x more than IU playing in Louisville in some piss poor arena. With all the freshman UK plays it's hard to win on the road against in hostile environments.. UK is scared.

In the end the students lose out, and it's not like IU or UK are hurting for money or recruiting for that matter..

Arguably, the 2 best games of the year were UK at IU and UNC at UK so this hurts the fans and CBB in general... and there's one common denominator between both those series ending.. UK
