WJOX 94.5 in B'ham (Barker, Del Greco, Et al) reporting that shots were fired this morning on the Strip in Tuscaloser.

No word yet on who may have been involved. 1 guy who was a worker at the bar the shootings took place in front of was treated for head trauma (not gunshot related).

Multiple reports that Alabama coaches and players, specifically Nico Johnson (LB) and the new LB coach, were seen at the hospital early this morning.

I will update as soon as possible.

EDIT11:21 am CST:

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -
It is all clear now, but two suspects are in custody after shooting guns on the strip in Tuscaloosa.

The Tuscaloosa Sheriff's Office says a physical altercation happened around 2:10 a.m. in the 1200 block of University Boulevard. A 20-year-old male was injured in the fight and transported to DCH with non-life-threatening injuries. No weapons were involved in the fight.

During the altercation, two males who were not involved in the fight pulled handguns into the air. It is believed that they were trying to disperse the crowd. They were taken into custody and both firearms were recovered.

A second victim, a 31-year-old male, was found lying unconscious on the sidewalk in the 1300 block of University Boulevard with serious head injuries. Investigators have not discovered if he was injured in the fight, but they say he was not injured by the firearms.

22-year-old Ryan Javaris Hamilton and 22-year-old Quamayne Rakesh Tolbert were both charged with Reckless Endangerment for discharging the firearms.

A campus security message sent last night warned of shots fired. Students and employees were asked to take precaution. A spokesman for the University of Alabama says the two suspects were not students.

DeAndrew White (Soph WR) was apparently injured from the fight, not gun shot related.

The university has issued two alerts to students. The first confirmed that shots were fired on the strip and that investigators were working on the scene. It also confirmed suspects were in custody and that authorities were taking the necessary precautions. A second alert issued was to tell students the situation was cleared and that both suspects were in custody. That alert confirmed no injuries were reported. It closed by saying an investigation is underway.

If there were no injuries, then why did Jox report that the employee of the establishment had a ct scan for head trauma? Maybe no injuries suffered from gun shot related wounds?

Update: Apparently there was an altercation.

Jay Barker indicated that the 20 year old male was potentially a football player.

There is a rumor going around that the unidentified injured victim is DeAndrew White. I have no way of confirming this.

Isn't he underage?

Why would he be out at 2AM when the team is scheduled to be honored at the White House today?

j/k. That is a good question. I thought Nick had banned them from the strip 3 years ago.
