Failed university drug tests are constantly covered up whether you want to believe that or not. Also, they have to give out a certain number of university issued drug tests, and they are usually used on the smaller teams such as tennis and golf, and rarely performed on basketball or football

I just don't understand how you can smoke a lot and still be able to perform without getting out of breath, etc.

I support it only for medicinal purposes because by all accounts I've read, it works wonders for that. Living 10 minutes away from Ann Arbor (aka Home of Hash Bash, which is on Friday) I know too many weed fanatics to count. With the exception of like three people I know who know how to handle it, all others I know are incredibly stupid and lethargic in everything. Instead of *****ing about legalizing it, they could get off their ass and do something productive. But that's a politics forum discussion.
Anyways, I'd say the amount of weed in the South as opposed to other geographic parts of the country is pretty small. However, there seems to be more drinking/chew in the South, so it balances out.

Just thought I would let the documentary speak for itself instead of getting into a huge debate with a bunch of uneducated (in cannabis) people.

I know at Tn Tech they could have a tcu type bust at any time. The football team was required to give a few drug test that they administered themselves. Only a few players failed. Last spring the athletic dept gave a drug test that was a little more "random" and the failure rate skyrocketed. This leads me to believe that coaches and administrators do whatever they can to make sure nobody gets in trouble. I applaud tech for trying to correct it but it won't change the culture.

Like pj said its all over college campuses. Many football players are very active socially so its easy for them to distribute if they have a connection. They can't have a job so selling weed gives them quick spending money and supports their habit. They also know they have to fail three tests before they miss any games so why not roll the dice?

I was told by several football players that the NCAA was more worried about steroids than street drugs so that hides the issue as well.

That's my two cents from being around it at a 1AA school. I'd imagine it equal or worse at larger schools.

Had a kid in high school who ran a 4.7 and smoked two packs a week. Kid wasn't human.

But

Some studies are showing (very few because not many to test on it) that if you start smoking after your lungs are fully developed (aka mid twenties) that smoking can actually strengthen your lungs.

Now the chemicals in cigarettes do more harm than good, but it's still an interesting thought.
