No.
Does the move affect UM's ability to retain Memphis basketball talent? Minimally.
Will equal more dollars for UM athletics, but its football team still won't routinely compete for recruits over SEC schools and it won't really help basketball recruiting a ton, either, as Pastner does a really good job already. Big news for UM, though, and if I were a Memphis fan I'd be happy about moving to a better conference all around.

| Congrats to them. Their teams will suffer, but look at how Cincy turned out. |

| I root for Memphis to do well, until they play or recruit against UT directly. Same with Vandy. Great city, great people, gets a bad rep. (some for good reason)

| Basketball will be alright (with a much better home schedule). Football will get some BCS money.
Even if they go 0-12 in the BE, I would take the BCS money. 1-11 in C-USA with no BCS money or 0-12 with BCS money. Easy.
Win for Memphis.

I don't think there should be any question about it. |

| Big East vs SEC Challenge:
Memphis vs UK in Memphis' inaugural season at Memphis. That'd be an interesting game. |
