| North Carolina State would be perfect I think adding the wolfpack would be perfect. they would open a new market in north carolina( the fastest growing markets in the USA) and it would also keep the conference southern and would add a good basketball program also. i think they might jump to get more love in the their own state and it would be perfect for the sec...
new markets....
would add a eastern team to counter balance adding a western team..
bam bam boom..
what do you all think?

| it wasn't a PR spin, we did it too.
there's too much baggage that they bring that the neither of the conferences want....WVU got shot down by both conferences without either even having to take a vote (that's what's the most telling); it wasn't a "we're not looking at expanding at this time but might be open to expansion later" like the SEC tried to do to prevent aTm lawsuits; this was a flat out "we don't want you" pretty much to their faces;
there's not anything that'd have to be spun out of PR fears here anyways
....and yes they could, because of Pittsburgh and New York City |

Pitt and Syracuse actually have value. West Virginia does not.

| NC State would be an awesome fit. I can see them making the jump too, except the 20 million dollar buyout clause is going to be steep. They already have a rivalry with South Carolina and Raleigh is only 5.5 hours from Knoxville, Colombia and Athens. We could get our conference game out the way with them next year in the first game in ATL. |

WVU belongs more with the Sun Belt schools in that regard. They would be, by far, the worst academic school in the ACC. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

| Of the "realistic" candidates that have been tossed around here lately, NC State and Missouri are on the top of my list. I think it would add almost as much to the conference's footprint as Texas AM does.
It gets us into North Carolina and is 800 miles away.

| Had a brutally long post in another thread about this scenario. I agree, NC ST or a Virginia makes sense for us and them I think. Win-win. WVU is s joke, they offer nothing to the SEC on any level. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

Also, despite UNC's insistence to the contrary, NC State thinks they have a rivalry with UNC. And politically, I'm not sure it would fly. |
