NBC probably would have loved to have shown the last quarter and a half or so of the USF-ND game, but it got delayed so long that they simply just couldn't
(i'd presume both due to obligation to show other shows later in the night and i guess football deals might only allow you to extend coverage of the game so long past it's normal, expected ending time) | |

they showed the game, went to an old game in the weather delay, game back to show the game when the weather delay ended, went back on weather delay,
and I had to find out the game started again (and watch its ending) online on ESPN, NBC went to it's saturday evening news and then to those several primetime shows it airs each saturday before SNL
