| Interesting article about Oregon's high-tempo mentality At Oregon, it's all about moving quickly and saving time - latimes.com Quote:
Oregon's theory is teams will ultimately get tired of giving chase, and so far it's working. The Ducks have outscored opponents in the second half, 128-13.
"If you watch other teams, their posture in the second half, they'll be bending over," Ducks linebacker Casey Matthews said.
The Sept. 11 game at Tennessee was 13-13 at intermission and ended 48-13.
"That tempo they were going at kind of got to us and wore us down," Tennessee defensive end Chris Walker said.
Volunteers Coach Derek Dooley remarked, "It's the fastest offense you'll see."

Several coaches have visited Oregon to study this speed symphony. Jon Gruden recently told the New York Times he wanted to move to Eugene and spend a season watching Kelly's offense, though Gruden's wife could not be sold on the idea.

| Everyone will be doing it in a few years or the NCAA will changes the rules giving defenses a chance. Not sure which, but I think one of these things will happen.

| Yeah. What rule change, exactly, would slow this O down?

Even that isn't having much luck...

Even that isn't having much luck... | To be fair, Oregons has only faced once opponent above .500, and they've yet to face a good defense this season. The thing is, they probably wont have to until bowl season. |

They'll roll UW. Too slow on D.
Cal has either shut out a team or give up 40. If cal loses to asu this sat look for this game to be a blowout. otherwise it's hard to say. cal has plenty of nlf talent on D and good speed, but seems to get deer in the headlights in big games or against good offenses. Though cal's d has done very well against kelly's spread 2 out of 3 years. and cal is just a different team at home
If fowles is healthy (debatable) this is a good game. Arizona doesn't have a very good offense though.
OSU's D has sucked, but in the past it's improved as the year has progressed. |

| | smh | OSU's already getting better on D. Oregon will score their points though, and as good as Katz can play, they have no shot of keeping up on the scoreboard without James Rodgers.
A good buddy of mine (Ducks fan) who's actually a pretty astute college football fan is worried most about the Cal game. Road game, trap game, alright defense, and Kevin Riley has shown occasional ability to chuck it around. |

| if cal beats oregon kevin riley wont be the reason. it will be shane vereen and the cal d. riley is truly horrible. before teh usc debacle i honestly thought cal would win the game. not because i think cal is that great but because it's the type of game tedford generally wins. home game, revenge game, etc. now i'm concerned we get intimitated by big games that aren't stanford. in the past though we've rolled oregon at home when they've been highly ranked.

@ USC
@ OSU
@ Cal
Oregon won't lose in Autzen. Bet on it.
