Are these Conference Changes Immediate?

Sorry if covered elsewhere.

Some teams have already announced a swith of conferences. There are plenty of rumors about other potential conference switches.

Do these announced switches take place immediately? For example, will Colorado play for the Pac 10 this upcoming year? The same question for the rumored switches.

If so, it seems like the rescheduling of games will be a nightmare.

So, the Big 12 will operate in 2011 but without a title game, if the above timetable is true.

I wonder there was a clause written into the future match up contracts for this type of situation... if not, I can't imagine what type of money these teams will have to shell out to get out of their future OOC games. First two that come to mind, naturally, are Nebraska and UT and Oklahoma and UT.

your first sentence kinda confused me but i think i follow...

they could still choose to play those already pre-set OOC games

by the sound of it, the pac-10 teams are only playing maybe 9 games in conference (the other 7 in their division, one trip west, one west coast team comes there)...that leaves 3 game dates still open

lets look at some of Oklahoma's future games....

2012-13 home and home with Notre Dame
2014-15 home and home with us
2016-17 home and home with Ohio State
2018-19 home and home with LSU

playing 9 conference games, and then an OOC game against ND, LSU, us, or Ohio State is down right brutal. I would imagine most teams will want to opt out of the future OOC schedules.... but that's just my opinion.
