When we beat Oklahoma in 2008, their offense came into the title game averaging 53 points per game. We held them to 14.
This is the SEC. If you can't play defense, you might not even win your division, much less anything greater. |
The year you choose is very important here as it only gets in SEC teams which b/c the conference is so good defensively would mean the top in the conference would be very likely to have an elite defense
if you just go back one more year though you find USC there with the 29th ranked defense in the country in 2005 playing in the title game
also in 2003 they won it with the 20th ranked defensive
im not saying your wrong on this, but in general a lot of how good the correlation seems has to do with when you decide the cutoff years are
