As a Pacer fan this ugly incident nearly killed this franchise. We had a deep playoff run type of team that season and when everyone got suspended it killed that seasons hopes. After that players started getting shipped out and rightfully sole but the fan base completely left this franchise and the Pacers were LUCKY to draw 8-10k on any given night. This state as most of you know lives & breathes basketball wether it be IU, Purdue,Butler,Pacers and high school hoops here is like high school football in Texas.
Indiana basketball fans were embarrassed by what happened that night in Detroit and it took A LONG time for them to trust this franchise and it's players again. Now they have a great coaching staff with Vogel & Brian Shaw and a very exciting and talented group of players in guys like Granger,George,Hibbert,Hansborugh,David West and other plus the hometown kid in George Hill. The state and fan base is pumped up and excited for Pacer basketball again but another incident like that one will y kill this proud franchise for good.
