Exactly, we
usually beat the teams we could "out-talent," but over the years the talent slipped... and the losses mounted, and it got to the point where even crappy teams started beating us because of the mediocre talent and subpar coaching.

Thats the outlier on the "mostly!"
The silver lining was that loss started the wheels turning in earnest. It was an undeniable wake up call for the state of the program and its stagnant leadership.
