Before all of this year's hirings, I believe LSU's OC Gary Crowton was the highest paid assistant coach in the SEC at $400k. And at least he's a coordinator. So to answer your question...It does surprise me how much we are willing to pay a d-line coach, even if he is a fantastic recruiter. Don't get me wrong I'm excited to have him, but I'm also a little nervous about how much $$ UT is throwing at a coaching staff with mixed track records (except Monte)
You haven't kept up with this whole story the last 3 or 4 days have you?
