I agree the top 10 was the better format. Jeff Gordon & Junior missing the cut that year is what brought the change, there was a large drop in interest with the two biggest name drivers absent. Once again NASCAR uses an artificial adjustment to "improve the show". Special & timely debris cautions, lucky dog, top 35 locked in, and a selective rule enforcement policy are some others.
