Not once in this thread nor that article was it suggested that "The Vols should not bother playing any more games because it is gauranteed they are going to lose based on these numbers."
"They wanted it more" and "He had more hustle/grit/oomph/whathever" are boring sports platitudes that aren't really interesting conversation on a sports forum, no matter their truth.
I mean what good is it to say "Hey guys, new poster here, just thought i'd chime in and say that the key to beating vanderbilt is Heart and Caring and Grit, and I hope coach P really practices those impossible-to-practice things before the big game!"
But to answer your question: Yes, there is a formula for evaluating heart and hustle, and it's called Heart Variable Evaluator Number-Thingy and Tyler Smith had a 17.2 HVEN-T last night and that was totally the difference between our winning and losing.
