Tennessee released the official 2007-2008 full basketball schedule today. I know some had been waiting for this all week so I thought I would go ahead and post it.
Those of you who are like me, hate the time after basketball season between Spring football practice and Fall football practice when there isn’t much going on besides baseball. Well, we are in luck.
According to a Jimmy Hyams, Phillip Fulmer makes too much money and Bruce Pearl doesn’t make enough. That’s right, Jimmy Hyams wrote it and and it surprises me. The numbers don’t surprise me but the fact the fact that Hyams wrote it does.
The Tennessean, and several other sources, have reported that JaJuan Smith has been cited for violating the City of Knoxville’s noise ordinance early Sunday morning. Smith allegedly had his music turned up too loud and when asked to turn it down, he became “antagonistic”.
Several sources are reporting that East Ridge star Phillip Jurick will commit to Tennessee on Wednesday. Jurick is scheduled to be in Knoxville for an unofficial visit tomorrow and word is that he will give his commitment to Bruce Pearl and the Vols.
Is anyone really surprised to hear this?
Recently the Tennessee and Iowa athletic departments sat down for a friendly game of go fish. We found this transcript highlighting the final minutes of the match:
On Tuesday, the Tennessee Athletic Department held the first annual VOLSCARS at the Knoxville Convention Center. The awards, modeled after the ESPYs, were to honor the individual and team accomplishments of both the women’s and men’s athletic departments.
The Tennessee Volunteers basketball team will play in a Disney tournament during the 2008-2009 season.
