On Tuesday, the Tennessee Athletic Department held the first annual VOLSCARS at the Knoxville Convention Center. The awards, modeled after the ESPYs, were to honor the individual and team accomplishments of both the women’s and men’s athletic departments.

Baseball Vols Take Two From Kentucky

I guess we should have planned for a wacky weekend after Game 1 of a three game series with Kentucky was postponed on Friday night due to snow on the field. The bad weather left us with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at noon.

Tennessee looked to have found some momentum on Saturday when they shut out the Tigers 9-0. That carried through about six innings of Sundays matchup and that’s when the wheels came off.

White 34 - Orange 7. Erik Ainge was 14-22 for 210 yards and two touchdowns. Senior Robert Meachem caught both touchdown passes, covering 27 yards and 70 yards. Overall, I think it was an exciting game for the fans to watch and there were a lot of positives for the team to build on. For those who get CSS, the game will be replayed on Sunday at 3:30pm.
