I'm pretty sure the win over the Russians was prior to the '88-'89 season. Travis Henry's one moment of UT glory.

The best atmosphere for basketball in the new arena was when Tennessee beat The Russian National Team on a last second shot. I believe it was a Sunday night following a home football win over Kentucky. I believe it was only the second year the new arena was open, could have been the first ?
