The Halfcourt Trap Vol. I, No. 10

Hat,

What do you think about Southern Cal. They made it to the Sweet 16, I think they bring back alot…not sure about this, and they add Mayo. Not even top 25?

Regards,
Blamie

I think Southern Cal will be good. It’s just hard for me to believe a team that young will prosper enough in the PAC 10 to merit being in the Top 25. They lost almost 50 ppg worth of scoring with Stewart, Pruitt, and Young departing. That said, I would not want to face them in March.

I like your top 25 hat, nice to see someone give St Joe’s a bit of recognition, they seem to be flying under the radar but should be solid.

I like you putting Gonzaga high, they return a lot and with Heytfelt making it back on to the aquad they should be a force.

The only place where we really differ is at the top. I think you could swap Memphis and UCLA. That being said, I have learned never to underestimate a Howland team.

seems like the razorbacks may make a move this year, what do you think Hat?

Arkansas has plenty of talent. However, I’m not sold on Pelphrey. Adding Rob Evans to the staff was a good first move.

Wow, did you mean to put Missouri at # 20? I am a diehard Mizzou fan, but even I wouldn’t put them in the top 25, let alone the top 75. Interesting. I also would swap Memphis and UCLA – I think this might be the year for Memphis.

I did mean to place Mizzou there. Outside of KU, A&M, and Texas the Big XII is mediocre, especially in the North. Also, look at what Mike Anderson did in his second year at UAB. I think they win 20 and make the tournament.

I hope you’re right about Mizzou. But I think they are going to have a few more years of dealing with poor recruiting and the NCAA violations before they can start to rebuild. But like I said…I hope you’re right.
