LaMarcus Coker Suspended

by vol.freak on August 7, 2007

coker-suspended.JPGCoach Fulmer’s comments:

“LaMarcus Coker has been suspended indefinitely from the Tennessee football team. He must fulfill obligations to the program and to me before he can return. I have tried, the administration has tried and we all will continue trying to help him, but at this point he must help himself.”

“I will not comment again until a later date, after I see how he responds.”

In 2006, Coker rushed for 696 yards and five touchdowns including a career long 89 yard run against Marshall.

From all indications Coker has allegedly violated the substance abuse policy and it’s not the first time. Most surprising about this announcement is it was just this past Saturday that Coker had all the right things to say to reporters during Tennessee’s media day. He insisted that he realized he needed to be more consistent on and off the field and that the actions that led to his suspension before the Outback Bowl were well behind him.
