Last week, it was announced that Candace Parker will be on the cover of a commemorative issue of Sports Illustrated celebrating the Lady Vols 7th National Championship. The issue will be limited to 110,000 copies.
That sparked a great thread by XtennesseeX in our Tennessee Vols Forum about the number of Sports Illustrated Covers that have featured the Vols. I had forgotten about a few of them. Specifically, I didn’t remember the Pat Summitt issue “The Wizard of Knoxville”.
“The Tennessee Waltz” issue featuring Tony Robinson was one of my favorites.

Yeah Candace Parker is my idol…I’ve watched her since she started at tennessee…I hope tennessee asked me to be on their team!!!I play AAu basketball for WV,charlston tornadeos and my high school team is frontier cougars in ohio!!!CP3 your the best!!She also played on my AAu team with Alexis Hornbuckle!!!Alexis dad is my coach so thats pretty cool…I didnt even now that ethier of them played there when I started playing there!!!!

Candace you are on the cover of SI’s commemorative issue with some of your former teamates. I just got the issue today, but I like it.I am your biggest fan. I follow the things you have done. I guess I could call you my role model. I also play the same position as you. I would like to meet you one day. Hopefully I can make it to the WNBA like you. I hope you are still playing around that time. I think you and the class of 08 will improve the crowd for the WNBA.
