As Candace Parker walked off the court on Sunday night, she looked to the large contingent of Tennessee fans in the arena and held up one finger. Not one finger, as in we are number one. Parker was referring to the one more win that the Lady Vols need to win the National Championship.
The Lady Vols were able to overcome a 12 point second half deficit to defeat #1 seed North Carlolina 56-50 and advance to the championship game to face #4 seed Rutgers on Tuesday night. It took a 20-2 run by Tennessee in the final 8:08 to finish the deal.
Candace Parker and Nicky Anosike each had 14 points on the night. Carolina All-American Ivory Latta finished with 13 points for the Tarheels but she was unable to knock down big shots down the stretch.
It will be the 12th appearance in the championship game for the Lady Vols but their first since 1998.

What a game the lady vols played last night against unc. we live in oklahoma but are tennesseeans and route for the lady vols. make us proud tuesday night. good luck!
Great comeback by the Lady Vols! I hate to admit that I fell asleep at halftime. I was elated to find out this morning that they had pulled it out!

i love tennessee lady vols my room is everthing in my room is about tennessee. I have a sign ball by pat summitt and candace parker.We went 2 see tennessee practice and thats when i ask candace parker to sign my basketball and she said yes sure and im the biggest fan of tennessee!!!!!!! and this is to pat summitt i hope you will fine mee someday so i will play basketball for the tennessee lady vols!!!!!!!! i love tennessee lady vols
