The Tennessee baseball team hosts No. 27 Florida this weekend for a three-game series at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The Volunteers are looking to build some momentum with their first Southeastern Conference series win of the year before heading into the stretch run of SEC play.

KFVS TV is reporting that it looks like the new head basketball coach at Southeast is Tennessee assistant Scott Edgar. Todd Richards says AD Don Kaverman would neither confirm nor deny the report.

NASHVILLE (AP) - Logan Young, the booster convicted of bribing a high school coach to get a top recruit for Alabama, was found dead Tuesday in his Memphis home, and police said they are investigating it as a homicide.

Combo guard Ramar Smith has decided to join Bruce Pearl and the Tennessee Vols basketball team next year. Smith is rated as the #30 ranked player in the nation by Rivals and the #5 shooting guard in the nation by Scout.

Tennessee looked to have found some momentum on Saturday when they shut out the Tigers 9-0. That carried through about six innings of Sundays matchup and that’s when the wheels came off.

White 34 - Orange 7. Erik Ainge was 14-22 for 210 yards and two touchdowns. Senior Robert Meachem caught both touchdown passes, covering 27 yards and 70 yards. Overall, I think it was an exciting game for the fans to watch and there were a lot of positives for the team to build on. For those who get CSS, the game will be replayed on Sunday at 3:30pm.

The Vols baseball team is off to a disappointing start this season. They were ranked in the top ten early in the year but now find themselves 18-11 (2-6) and at the bottom of the SEC East.

In today’s highly competive world of college basketball recruiting the buzz word seems to be “practice facility”. That’s no different at Tennessee as both Pat Summit and Bruce Pearl have been pushing for the construction of an on campus facility.

Many of you know that the mood around Knoxville regarding Tennessee’s football team has not been a positive one. Coming off of a 5-6 season which inlcuded no post season bowl game will have that effect on fans, especially in a season where expectations were so high.
