The Alabama Crimson Tide doused the flames of the No. 8 ranked Tennessee Vols 8 game winning streak Saturday evening. It was a hard to game to watch if you were a Vol fan. Both teams took the court wearing their throwback jerseys, but Tennessee might want to throw back the throwbacks after last night.

The Tennessee Vols (18-3, 9-1) had Georgia (14-9, 4-6) on their minds Saturday night, but instead of Ray Charles leading the band, Chris Lofton took the microphone, stepped into the spotlight and stole the show.

For those of you who missed Coach Pearl on PTI this week, here are his comments regarding the overblown situation that took place during his son’s basketball game at West High School.

Bruce Pearl had Kentucky on his mind when he took the job as head basketball coach at Tennessee. Even then, he talked about how the Wildcats were the measuring stick in the SEC and how he wanted to restore the rivalry that once was.

Tennessee (16-3, 7-1) heads to Rupp Arena Tuesday night to put it’s #11 ranking on the line against the unranked Kentucky Wildcats (15-7, 5-3). The game is sold out and over 23,000 are expected to be on hand for the tip-off
