Brentwood, TN.- Tennessee continues to search for the best and brightest recruits to fill out the 2011 roster. Not only does playmaking ability account for a recruit with head coach Derek Dooley. The staff continues to work hard on identifying positive character recruits to influence the new direction. Brentwood Academy standout Derek King was recently on campus and the staff indicated to him he had all the attributes they seek for a top recruit.

“The visit went very well. I met with the coaches and I talked to coach Dooley and coach Joseph. They were telling me about the steps they have taken towards turning the program around. The recruits they want to bring in are good character recruits like me. He also mentioned I was a high priority for them. They told me I was a key recruit for Tennessee and the program.”

Tennessee has been hot after this prospect in recent weeks. He has visited Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, and Auburn. It was on his first Tennessee visit where he earned a scholarship offer. But the impression that they left on him was a very solid and may have improved their chances even more during the second visit.

“I’m going to get down to Tennessee again next month. I’m also looking at visiting another SEC school next month, I’m not sure which one, there are a couple I’m looking at. But this visit put them as one of my favorites, one of my top schools. But I don’t have a decision coming anytime soon.”

The 5’10” 185 pound star has over 13 offers including Auburn, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt among others.
