Lakewood, CA- Another California standout has started to gain some recruiting momentum. ESPNU150 watch list defensive line prospect Todd Barr has started adding offers from outside the Pac-10. And others are showing strong interest to the standout as well. Recently he took a few unofficial visits with his mother and father. Cal, Oregon, and Stanford were all paid a visit by Todd and his family. He spoke about this trip and one of his most recent offers, from the Oregon Ducks.

“I was recently at Stanford, Cal, and Oregon for some unofficial visits. They were all great visits, and Oregon offered me while I was on the visit. I was real impressed with the d-line coach at Oregon. (Jerry Azzinarro) He made a big impact on me. I feel like he could get me to the next level. The facilities were beautiful and the area was real nice.”

Oregon is one of his 12 offers. He holds offers from Cal, Stanford, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Northern Arizona, Minnesota, Texas Tech, and Oregon State. Nebraska and Tennessee just offered him this week. He is also hearing from Notre Dame and USC. At 6’3″ 265 lbs, he has size to play end or tackle on the defensive line.

“I don’t mind where I play. I just want to play wherever coach puts me and where we have the best chance to win. I am grateful for all my offers, they are all a big deal to me. I’m just glad they feel I can cause a change in their program.”

“Right now I would say that Arizona, Cal, and UCLA are recruiting me the hardest. I’m still totally wide open at this time and don’t have any favorites. I am open to any D-1 school that wants to show interest in me. I’m not in any hurry to commit right now. I’m just taking my time with the process and trying to evaluate what is best for me.”

His mother and father went on the visits with him to the three Pac-10 schools. They will play an important role in his recruitment as he is very close to them.

“My parents will help me with this process. Because of them I am where I’m at today. Because I listened to them I am in this position right now. My coach Bernard Riley will also help me. He has helped me with my game so much, and is also a major reason that schools are recruiting me. I owe them all a great deal, and will value their opinions greatly.”

With a highly respectful tone, it’s easy to see why any school who talks with Todd would offer. He boasts some elite talent on the field, but shows he will be a positive leader in the locker room as well.

“Coaches tell me they like my motor and my get off. They tell me I have a great motor. I am just looking for a school with a great education, and where I have a great relationship with my position and head coach. I want to be in an environment where everyone is there to play football. Right now my only goal is to win a ring. We have made it to the semi’s twice and lost. We have a lot of returners so we should be good.”

At this point Todd mentioned he does not have any more visits planned at this time.
