karlos-williamsOne of the premier athletes in Florida is athlete Karlos Williams. Karlos is currently 6’2″ 210 lbs, and is a playmaker on both sides of the ball. Karlos has several offers on the table and claims he has around 12-14 offers. Originally Karlos was thought of as a wide receiver, but recently has turned his attention to the defensive side of the ball. With his current size most schools are recruiting him as a safety, or possibly the rover position that some schools implement. He has an exceptional blend of size and speed, and has college scouts already drooling by his potential. His older brother is currently on the roster at Florida State, Vince Williams, it’s no surprise they have thrown in an early offer and look strong to contend for his services.

“Yeah my brother is up at Florida State. I am very familiar with the program there. I know most of the coaches really well. I’m very close to a lot of them. Coach Amato, Jimbo, Coley, Dawsey, they are all like uncles to me. They all usually fight over me at camps about practicing with their group and stuff. Plus with my brother there he gives me the inside scoop, so I always know what’s really going on. FSU is like a second home to me.”

Florida State however is not his only offer. And Karlos is paying very close attention to a large selection of schools. He’s closing out his junior season very shortly and it’s been a long season. His team is currently 2-6. They lost 18 seniors last year, 16 of which started or logged heavy minutes.

“Yeah our season didn’t go too well. We are 2-6 right now. We are just inexperienced but we actually did pretty good. I played quarterback and safety. It was fun to play quarterback, kind of a nice transition.”

“I think I have around 12-14 offers right now. FSU, Miami, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Michigan, Tennessee, Alabama, and Cal are a few I can think of. Most of them are recruiting me pretty hard right now. I would love to hear a little more from LSU maybe. I pay attention to a lot of these schools, try to learn as much about them as possible. I’m really proud of all these offers and the early attention.”

Karlos broke down what he sees in a few schools and why they have his interest.

“Alabama is playing very strong football right now. They program is outstanding, they don’t just offer anybody who plays football. ”

“Tennessee, I love watching Eric Berry. He is a very high caliber player, he makes so many big plays and hits at free safety. The way he came up and hit Tebow was awesome. He loves to go strong. Tennessee laid the blueprint on how to beat Florida with tough defense.”

“Georgia, I talk to coach McClendon there very often, we talked for like 2 hours the other day. He’s one of my favorite coaches to talk to.”

“Georgia Tech is recruiting me hard. I love the offense and defense there. I really love coach Nesbitt up there.”

Karlos also claims he is hearing form UCLA, Cal, and Notre Dame pretty regularly. The plan right now is to take all 5 visits and see what happens. He also claims that his family will be heavily involved with this decision.
